I get asked this question pretty frequently, and that’s whether you can file a personal injury claim without a lawyer. And certainly somebody can open a claim if they’ve been injured and attempt to process that claim with the at-fault party’s insurance company. One of the reasons I think that it’s important to have a good lawyer, qualified lawyer, experienced lawyer in your corner is because at the end of the day and interacting with an insurance company, they don’t do what they otherwise don’t want to do. And the leverage that we have in being qualified lawyers is that if push comes to shove, we can file a lawsuit. That’s not the objective for every case but if the insurance company refuses to treat one of our clients as they should and give them the compensation that they deserve, we can file a lawsuit and we can take it to the mat as they say.
